Privacy Policy

Phone number: Required for account creation and message delivery.

Messages: We store your text conversations with Ben to provide context-aware responses and track your wins and goals.

Goals and preferences:Information you share during onboarding (what you're building, your industry, your preferred check-in time).

Ben's notes and profile:From your conversation, Ben keeps a running summary, facts worth remembering, what you've said you'll ship and by when, and a profile he infers: your industry and stage, what you talk about and are good at, what you might need or could offer, and how you text (length, tone, when you're around). He uses these to text you like someone who remembers. For Crew members, the profile also helps the person at TMJCrew who chooses introductions. It is never shown to other members.

Crew profile:If you join the Crew, the first name, city, what you need, what you can offer and who you'd like to meet that you tell Ben, so he can make introductions.

Delivery and safety data:Whether each text was delivered (from Twilio), and when you sign up on the website a salted hash of your IP address, to stop automated abuse. We don't keep the IP address itself.

Payment information: Processed and stored securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details directly.

We use the following third-party services:

• Twilio: For SMS message delivery
• OpenAI: For AI-generated messages and embeddings
• Vercel AI Gateway (routing to Perplexity): For web searches about what you're building
• Stripe: For payment processing
• Supabase: For data storage and authentication
• Vercel: For website hosting

Each of these services has their own privacy policies. Your message content is processed by OpenAI to generate responses.

Crew matching is part of Crew membership: joining switches it on, and you can turn it off in settings at any time. A person at TMJCrew chooses each introduction, sometimes with AI suggestions based on crew profiles and the profile Ben infers from your texts. While matching is on, we share data between members in two stages:

• Before you consent (preview): only anonymised, PII-free information — a compatibility score and a short summary of goals and accountability traits. No name, no phone number, no contact details are shared or shown to the model that writes the preview.
• After you both consent (introduction):once both members approve a match, we share each member's first name and phone number with the other so you can talk directly. This is disclosed in the preview message before you decide.

You can withdraw consent at any time by turning crew matching off in settings or texting STOP, which cancels pending introductions and freezes active matching. We retain match records (including declined and expired matches) so the same pairing isn't proposed again; these are deleted when you delete your account.

Crew intel:once a week, Crew members get a text listing members' asks and offers. It's written from crew profiles and anonymised: no names, company names, numbers or contact details. Yours is only included while matching is on.

Shareable reads: if you text READ, Ben writes a short read on you and texts you a link to it. Anyone with the link can see it, with your first name; it is never listed or indexed. Text UNSHARE to take it down.
